Data Center commissioning imposes technical requirements beyond load application. Installation, cable routing, available connection types, and room physical space directly influence test viability. In many projects, the obstacle isn’t just the system being validated, but how the load bank must operate within an environment that is, by nature, complex, restricted, and sensitive.
From accumulated experience across different projects, it became evident that market-available banks created practical barriers: excess floor cables, difficulty connecting in space-limited panels, equipment incompatibility, and dependence on external transformers for command power. Each factor added time, risk, and friction to operations.
The 3BW 100 kW load bank development was born from this diagnosis. The goal wasn’t just creating a new equipment, but solving obstacles repeatedly compromising test fluidity.
The solution incorporated characteristics specific to Data Center scenarios. Power derivation through Camlok connectors allows up to five banks to be connected from a single cable set. This can drastically reduce floor cable volume, simplify panel interface, and facilitate installation. The result is more organized, safe, and rapid installation — three elements essential in rooms where space is limited and schedule is rigid.
Another decisive point was adopting sources capable of operating between 200 to 500 V, enabling direct command/fan power from test voltage. This eliminates auxiliary transformer needs or command cable connection at distant points, making equipment extremely flexible for different scenarios without additional adjustments.
The 100 kW load bank now meets exactly what modern commissioning requires: solid electrical performance, cleaner installation, reduced external infrastructure dependence, and operation compatible with typical Data Center restrictions.
